Sugar Cane Growers Council Signs Landmark MOU with MIOT Pacific Medical and MIOT Hospitals Private Limited to Enhance Healthcare Access for Fijian Cane Growers

Lautoka, Fiji – 8th May, 2025 — In a milestone initiative aimed at improving healthcare access for sugarcane growers in Fiji, the Sugar Cane Growers Council (SCGC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Omnicare Pte Limited t/a MIOT Pacific Medical (MPM) and MIOT Hospitals Private Limited (India).

The signing ceremony, held at the Sugarcane Cane Growers Council Building in Drasa Lautoka , marks a strategic collaboration that seeks to deliver quality medical care and facilitate international specialist treatment for Fijian sugarcane farmers, ensuring timely and coordinated healthcare support.

Under this partnership:

  • MPM will serve as the liaison between SCGC and MIOT Hospitals in India, coordinating initial health checks, specialist referrals, and travel arrangements for farmers needing overseas care.

  • SCGC will engage directly with farmers, guiding them through available healthcare services, scheduling consultations, and supporting them throughout their treatment journey.

  • MIOT Hospitals (India) will offer world-class medical services, with provisions for special pricing, timely screening, and seamless patient intake for those requiring treatment abroad.

A promise that their health and well-being will be prioritized with the dignity they deserve.
